SkipStone is a cross-platform file-sharing app that replaces AirDrop-style workarounds for people whose devices don't all wear the same logo. Files travel device-to-device — over local Wi-Fi at full network speed, over Bluetooth when there's no network at all, or over an encrypted direct connection across the internet — and are never stored on a server. In our benchmark, a 3.6 GB video went phone to laptop in 24 seconds. Receiving is free forever; unlimited sending is $0.99/month with the first month free. A built-in universal clipboard syncs copied text and images across every signed-in device.

Founder

SkipStone is built by Aaron Mylius, founder of MyliusTech LLC — a one-person software studio. Aaron used to carry an iPhone, and his wife still does — AirDrop handled everything. Then his daily driver became an Android phone, sitting next to a Mac and a Windows PC, and the problem became very real, very fast: nothing out there moved files well between all of them. So he built it himself.
